# Regions

> Choose the US or EU /v1 host that matches the organization's data residency.

Call the regional `/v1` host that matches the organization's data residency.
Keys created in that organization's Developer Hub authenticate only on that
host. They do not work across regions.

| Region | Base URL |
| - | - |
| US | `https://api.us-east-1.livingsecurity.ai/v1` |
| EU | `https://api.eu-west-1.livingsecurity.ai/v1` |

<Warning>
  A valid key sent to the other region's host fails as
  [`unauthorized`](/developers/v1/errors/unauthorized). Use the host assigned
  to your organization.
</Warning>

## How to choose a host

1. Use the data-residency region chosen when the organization was created.
2. After you can reach a host, confirm with `GET /v1/organization`. The
   `region` field is the data-residency label. Use it to pick the host.
3. If you are not sure, ask Living Security Support. Do not send a live key
   to both hosts to find out.

Request logs in the Developer Hub show traffic for that organization's
region only.

## Map your organization's region

Use the `region` returned by `GET /v1/organization` to confirm your host:

| `region` | Host to use |
| - | - |
| `us` | US |
| `eu` | EU |
| `uk` | EU |
| `ca` | US |
| `apac`, `au` | Contact Living Security Support to confirm your organization's host. |

Do not switch hosts to work around an authorization or availability error.
