# invalid_filter

> Public API error invalid_filter — a filter parameter is invalid for this endpoint (HTTP 400).

| **Code** | `invalid_filter` |
| **HTTP status** | `400 Bad Request` |
| **Retryable** | No |

## What it means

A filter parameter on a list request is invalid: the field is not filterable on this endpoint, or the value is outside the allowed set. The `param` field names the offending filter and `detail` describes the allowed values.

## What to do

* Read `detail` and `param` — they name the invalid filter and its allowed values.
* Check the API reference for the filters each list endpoint supports.
* Correct the filter and resend the request; do not retry it unchanged.
