# insufficient_permission

> Public API error insufficient_permission — the credential is missing a required permission (HTTP 403).

## What it means

The credential authenticated successfully but has not been granted the permission this operation requires. The `detail` field names the missing permission.

## What to do

* Grant the named permission to the credential's service account in the Developer Hub, or use a credential that already has it.
* Follow least privilege: grant only the permissions the integration actually needs.
* Do not retry with the same credential until its permissions change.
