# credential_expired

> Public API error credential_expired — the API credential is past its expiration date (HTTP 401).

## What it means

The credential was recognized but is past its expiration date. Expired credentials can never authenticate requests again.

## What to do

* Rotate the credential in the Developer Hub and deploy the new secret to your integration.
* Set a reminder or automation to rotate keys before their expiration date so integrations do not break.
* Do not retry with the expired credential — the result will not change.
